THE NED KELLY CONNECTION

Mart. Martin Broderick (the youngest of the "Avondale" Brodericks) then (10/1981) living in Forbes, advised that the Forbes Museum had evidence that kate McCluskey, a sister of Ellen McCluskey, who was Grandma Broderick of "Avondale", was married to Edward Kelly, father of the famous bushranger, Ned Kelly.

The story is that Ned Kelly turned bushranger because returned home one night to find a policeman raping either his sister or mother.

The Kelly gang raided the bank at Euroa, a town prominent in the early history of the Brodericks.

It also happens that the Desaillys (Tricia Desailly is married to Pat Broderick, son of Jack and Daisy Broderick) had a station not far from Euroa at that time. It is reported that the Kelly gang spent the night before the bank robbery holding up the Desaillys in their homestead.
